Does Azure have data centres in India?
Yes. Azure runs three India regions: Central India in Pune, South India in Chennai and West India in Mumbai. That gives you in-country data residency and lower latency for Indian users. IBM Cloud’s India footprint is thinner, so if residency or latency is critical, Azure is usually the safer default.
When is IBM Cloud the better choice over Azure?
When you are standardising on Red Hat OpenShift, need bare-metal servers for licensing or performance, or run regulated workloads that fit IBM’s financial-services and government designs. In those cases IBM Cloud can be a cleaner fit than bending Azure to match.
Is Azure cheaper than IBM Cloud in India?
It depends on the workload, region and commitment. Azure often wins on steady-state cost with reserved instances and its built-in local SSD pricing. IBM Cloud can be competitive for bare-metal and dedicated needs. Sirius Star sizes both against your actual load before you sign anything.
