Business networking in India: the 2026 buyer’s guide
Most slow-network complaints are a design and segmentation problem inside your building, not a bandwidth problem from your ISP. Here is how to buy around it.
When Business Networking still fits
Before you switch, check whether you are actually in the group that should stay put. We sell and service Business Networking, so this list is honest.
Start with an honest question. Do you even need new gear. Plenty of Indian offices rip out a working network because one corner has bad Wi-Fi, when the fix is two access points and a channel change, not a forklift. If your switches are managed, your access points are business grade, and you can actually see your traffic, a targeted top-up beats a full redesign. Where a redesign earns its cost is a new floor, a merger of two office networks, or an audit that just failed you on segmentation.
The network is invisible until the Wi-Fi drops in the boardroom during a client demo. That is when the cost shows up, and it is never the price of an access point. It is the frozen all-hands, the sales call that reconnects four times, the audit finding nobody can answer. A consumer router saved fifteen thousand rupees at the last expansion, and now nobody can keep guests off the finance segment. The saving was never real. It just moved to a worse day.
The newer thing buyers miss in 2026 is that the network is now a compliance surface. A DPDP or CERT-In review expects guests, finance and general staff on separate segments, with logging, and a flat network fails that on sight. The second shift is management. Cloud consoles like Aruba Central, Nuclias and Mist keep history, so a bad roam at 11:40 on Monday has a name and a timestamp instead of vanishing. Wi-Fi 7 is arriving, but for most offices a Wi-Fi 6E access point placed well beats a Wi-Fi 7 one placed badly. Anything touching the public network still needs TEC MTCTE certification, so check that before you buy.
The older truth still holds. Coverage is about overlap and interference, not the number of rooms, and a site survey settles in an afternoon the guessing you would otherwise do for a year. Managed switches cost more than unmanaged, and they earn it the day you need VLANs and traffic visibility, which is the day a security review asks. Where a single brand stops being the answer is at the edges. A large campus that wants one console leans enterprise. A price-sensitive floor across fifty sites leans India-value. Match the gear to the building, not to the brochure.
Business Networking at a glance
The brand you are benchmarking everything else against.
Business Networking
- Market shape
- The network is invisible until the Wi-Fi drops in a client demo. In 2026 it is also a compliance surface: segmentation and logging are what a DPDP or CERT-In review expects to see, and a flat network has no clean answer.
- Top vendors in India
- Cisco and HPE Aruba lead enterprise. Juniper Mist and Fortinet convergence are rising. D-Link and Digisol lead India-value SMB switching and Wi-Fi. Ubiquiti is the prosumer favourite with thinner local support.
- Price bands (indicative)
- SMB smart switches cost a few thousand rupees a port, managed L2 and L3 more, cloud-managed Wi-Fi access points sit mid-range, and enterprise campus with AIOps is priced by subscription. Ask for the GST split.
- Buy triggers
- An office expansion or a new floor, a merger of two networks, a failed audit finding on segmentation, or a security incident that exposed a flat network.
- The 2026 shift
- Wi-Fi 7 is arriving, cloud management is the default, and anything touching the public network needs TEC MTCTE certification. Old flat networks fail DPDP-style reviews.
- Design vs bandwidth
- About ninety percent of slow-Wi-Fi complaints are coverage, channel planning or an old switch, not the ISP link. A site survey settles it before you spend on either.
The 4 alternatives, honestly compared
Every brand below is one Sirius Star supplies and services in India. We make money either way, which is exactly why we can be straight with you.
HPE Aruba
Enterprise Wi-Fi and switching with one cloud console and AI-driven ops.
- CX switch line from the 6000 to the 10000 series, Wi-Fi 6E 600 and Wi-Fi 7 700 access points, and Aruba Central for cloud management that keeps history.
- Clear global number two in enterprise WLAN behind Cisco, and now under HPE Networking alongside Juniper for a full-stack alternative.
- Distributed in India through Redington and Ingram Micro, with ClearPass network access control for segmentation an audit will accept.
The honest downside: Aruba Central subscription licensing gets costly, and ClearPass and Central setup are complex. The roadmap between Aruba and Juniper Mist is still settling after the 2025 merger.

Firewall, switch and Wi-Fi on one operating system, run from one console.
- FortiGate NGFW plus FortiSwitch and FortiAP, all on FortiOS, tied together by the Security Fabric.
- Custom NP7 and SP5 ASICs give strong price-performance versus software-only rivals.
- Number one firewall vendor by units shipped, so the security stack is deep if that is where your real risk sits.
The honest downside: FortiOS has a run of actively exploited CVEs that force emergency patch cycles, and admins often stay on mature firmware branches. Support responsiveness and renewal costs draw complaints.
View the Fortinet page →D-Link
SMB switches and Wi-Fi at a fraction of Cisco pricing, with pan-India service.
- DGS and DXS managed switches, DAP and Nuclias cloud access points, with free Nuclias Connect on-prem management.
- India market leader in SMB switching and WLAN, an NSE and BSE listed local entity with service in over 100 cities.
- Three national distributors, 15,000-plus resellers, and doorstep D-Link Direct Service for fast replacement.
The honest downside: Seen as SOHO grade for core or large-campus roles, where buyers default to Cisco or Aruba. Entry models have lower switching capacity and support quality varies.
View the D-Link page →Digisol
India-based networking brand with Goa manufacturing and TEC-certified gear.
- DG-GS managed and PoE switches, GPON and EPON OLTs, and Wi-Fi 6 access points, plus end-to-end structured cabling.
- Only India-based IT networking brand with a pan-India setup: 50-plus cities, 45-plus distributors, 63-plus service centres.
- TEC-certified FTTH and switching used by major Indian telecom service providers, with own manufacturing via Smartlink in Goa.
The honest downside: Reliability and after-sales complaints on SOHO gear, and CERT-In flagged vulnerabilities in a router model in 2024. Best fit is value and compliance-led buys, not high-end campus.

| Factor | Business Networking | HPE Aruba | Fortinet | D-Link | Digisol |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Best-fit buyer | Match the gear to the building, not the brochure | Large single campus, wants one console | Firewall-led security shop | SMB wanting value and India service | Government and Make-in-India, price-sensitive |
| Where it leads | Design and segmentation, not raw bandwidth | Enterprise Wi-Fi and AIOps | Converged security and network | SMB switching and WLAN share | TEC-certified FTTH and cabling |
| Management console | A console that keeps history beats a blind switch | Aruba Central and ClearPass | FortiManager and FortiOS | Nuclias and Nuclias Connect | On-box and controller |
| India price band | Design first, then price the boxes | Premium, subscription-led | Mid to premium, bundle-led | Value, sharp SMB pricing | Value, government-friendly |
| Local service and channel | Who reaches your slowest branch, and how fast | Redington and Ingram Micro | Distributor plus FortiCare | 100-plus cities, doorstep RMA | 50-plus cities, 63-plus centres |
| Compliance fit (TEC / DPDP) | Segmentation and logging are basic audit evidence now | ClearPass NAC for segmentation | Security Fabric with logging | VLANs on the managed range | TEC MTCTE certified line |
| Where it loses | No single brand wins every floor | Central licensing cost, setup complexity | FortiOS CVE patch cycles | SOHO perception at the core | SOHO reliability complaints |
When switching from Business Networking pays off, and when it does not
Three questions, in this order. First, what does one bad Wi-Fi hour cost you, counted in stalled calls and idle salary, not the price of an access point. Second, who fixes the network when it breaks, and how fast can an engineer reach your slowest branch. Third, how many sites and users will you have in eighteen months, not today. If you cannot answer the first one, you are shopping on sticker price, and that is how offices overbuy switches and underbuild coverage at the same time.
Then match. If you run a big single campus and want AIOps and one console from access to core, HPE Aruba or Juniper Mist earn their premium. If the firewall already leads your security and you want one operating system across firewall, switch and Wi-Fi, Fortinet fits. If you have many sites on a thin per-site budget, or a Make-in-India and government-procurement need, D-Link and Digisol give you India-wide service and honest price-performance. Most real networks end up mixing brands, and that is fine when one partner owns the escalation.
One warning. Do not let a cheap quote or a single spec line decide the design. New access points on tired cabling negotiate down to whatever the old switch can feed, and you have paid Wi-Fi 6E money for Wi-Fi 5 behaviour. The choice is not the logo on the box. It is who runs the site survey, who honours the warranty in your city, and whether guests are actually kept off the finance segment. Ask for a free network review before you sign anything, and make the survey the step where the guessing stops.
