Numeric UPS at a glance

What Numeric actually is, who it fits, and where the Legrand-owned line-up sits against the imported names.

OEM
Novateur Electrical & Digital Systems Pvt. Ltd., trading as Numeric. Founded in Chennai in 1984, acquired by the French Legrand Group in February 2012 for roughly Rs 806-837 crore. Numeric now sits alongside Legrand, BTicino, Indo Asian, Raritan and Server Technology as a Legrand Group brand.
What it is
An Indian-manufactured UPS line spanning line-interactive desk units up to modular three-phase systems for data centre floors. Two manufacturing units in India back the range.
Current range (2026)
Digital (Plug N Play) for entry line-interactive use, Premius Edge and Premius Edge Rack for small online loads, Onfiniti+ for single-phase server rooms, Keor T EVO and Keor HPE for three-phase online, Keor MP for modular scale-out, plus Valura IBB and Servo Stabilizers for adjacent needs. Note: Keor HP and Keor T are the older names; Legrand has moved the line-up to Keor HPE and Keor T EVO on current price lists.
Service footprint
250+ service locations and 900+ trained field technicians across India, per Legrand’s own published figures. This is the real reason Numeric wins branch and plant deployments outside the metros, where an imported brand’s dealer network thins out fast.
Sirius Star’s role
We are an authorized Numeric reseller. We size the range and battery chemistry to your actual load, not the catalog default, and we log install dates so battery replacement never becomes a surprise.
Best fit
BFSI branches, hospitals, labs, manufacturing plants and government offices running on Indian grids that dip, sag and switch to DG without warning. Less suited to buyers who need one global UPS standard across several countries.

Most bought, desk and small rack

Digital (Plug N Play)

The line-interactive workhorse for desks and comms cupboards. AVR corrects the routine grid dip without switching to battery. One server, a switch and an NVR ride out their few minutes.

Current India band: 600 VA to 2.2 kVA*
  • Cheapest way to protect a single point of failure
  • Switches to battery only when supply actually fails
  • Not built for a true online server-room load
Server room, online

Onfiniti+

Single-phase online double-conversion. The load sits behind clean inverter power the entire time, so a DG handover never shows up as a glitch downstream.

Current India band: 1 to 10 kVA*
  • No transfer beat, true always-on protection
  • Right tier for BFSI branch and small server rooms
  • Costs more upfront than a line-interactive unit
Data centre floor

Keor HPE

Three-phase online double-conversion for the data centre. Supersedes the older Keor HP name on current Legrand price lists. Built for real three-phase load with parallel redundancy.

Current India band: 100 to 800 kVA*
  • VFI three-phase, parallel redundancy available
  • Right call once you have a genuine 3-phase incomer
  • Overkill below roughly 12 kW without a DG in the picture
Modular, expandable

Keor MP

Module-based architecture with three-level IGBT inverters. Hot-swap modules and N+1 redundancy without a forklift upgrade later.

Current India band: grows module by module to 1.2 MW*
  • Up to 96% efficiency, smaller footprint than fixed-frame units
  • Add capacity module by module as load grows
  • Project-quoted, not a shelf price
*Disclaimer: Bands shown are illustrative examples of the current Numeric India line-up. Legrand refreshes naming and specifications periodically (Keor HP and Keor T have already moved to Keor HPE and Keor T EVO). Please contact Sirius Star for latest availability and price.

Numeric vs APC, Vertiv and Eaton

All four are honest choices. Numeric does not win every quote, and we say so before you sign one.

BrandWhere it winsBest fit
NumericDeepest India service reach (250+ locations), one portfolio from desk to data centre, Indian manufacturing.Branches and plants outside the metros where local response time matters most.
APC by Schneider ElectricA single global platform and published datasheets, easy to standardise across countries.Groups running one UPS standard across multiple geographies.
Vertiv (Liebert)Modular UPS matched with precision cooling in one vendor relationship.Large modular data centre pods wanting UPS and cooling from one supplier.
EatonStrong mid-size server room track record and established DCIM software.Mid-size server rooms already inside the Eaton ecosystem.

VRLA or lithium on the online line

This decision moves the ten-year ledger more than the brand choice does. Standard VRLA, sealed lead-acid, runs three to five years of design life on paper. In a hot Indian closet with no dedicated cooling, plan to replace nearer the four-year mark, not the five. It costs less upfront and weighs more on the floor. Disposal is a regulated waste item, and Sirius Star handles it as one.

Lithium-ion costs more on day one and less across ten years once you count replacement cycles and freight for a heavier VRLA bank. It tolerates heat far better, which matters in a plant floor that runs warm through May and June. We price both chemistries on every online-tier quote. The CFO usually picks lithium once the ten-year number sits next to the VRLA number on the same page, not before.

“The grid dropped for ninety seconds. The plant data centre never noticed.”

Anonymised plant manager at a Pune-area manufacturing site. He messaged us. Not a complaint. He wanted to know what had changed. Nothing dramatic: the right Numeric unit, sized right, with the battery bank we had argued for.

Numeric UPS India FAQ

Common questions from Indian buyers. Hover any underlined term for a plain-English definition.

Is Numeric a good UPS brand for an Indian server room?

Yes, for most rooms. Numeric is a Legrand-owned brand with one of the widest India service footprints going, 250+ locations and 900+ trained technicians. The online tiers give full double-conversion power. Where it loses is a group that wants one identical UPS standard across several countries.

What is the difference between Digital and the online Numeric ranges?

Digital is line-interactive. It corrects a routine grid dip with AVR and switches to battery only when supply actually fails, which suits desks and small loads. Onfiniti+, Keor HPE and Keor MP are online double-conversion, keeping the load behind clean inverter power at all times. Server rooms should run on the online tier.

Has Numeric renamed any of its UPS ranges recently?

Yes. Keor HP is now sold as Keor HPE, and Keor T is now Keor T EVO on Legrand’s current India price lists. If an older quote or datasheet still says Keor HP, ask for the current name before you sign.

Who services Numeric UPS units across India?

Service runs through the Numeric and Legrand authorized partner network, which reaches well past the metros. Sirius Star coordinates the ticket. Metro response is usually same-day; tier-2 and tier-3 turnaround depends on the local partner footprint, which we confirm on the quote.

How long does a Numeric UPS battery last in India?

Standard VRLA typically runs three to five years in Indian heat, closer to four in a hot closet. Lithium-ion tolerates heat better and runs longer at a higher upfront cost. We log the install date and send a replacement reminder before end-of-life.

How do you size a Numeric UPS for my load?

We start with a free load review, use real wattage from the server or rack vendor’s datasheet rather than the nameplate figure, add 15% headroom, and map runtime to your longest logged outage. The written quote lands in 24 working hours.
