Should I buy NetBackup Software or Appliance?

What is MSDP and why does it matter?
MSDP is the Media Server Dedupe Pool. It is variable-length global dedupe with client-side options. A typical mixed estate sees 10x to 20x reduction. Without MSDP, petabyte backup becomes commercially painful.
Do I need Alta Recovery Vault?
