Your HQ IT team says shipping a company laptop to India means 45+ days in customs, 30-40% import duty, and no local warranty. The Dell warranty you paid for in California does not cover a broken screen in Hyderabad. Your EOR says hardware is not their business. They tell you to find a local partner.
Firstbase and Hofy will sell you a laptop, but their delivery in India is patchy, and when something breaks, the RMA runs through their Europe or US operations. Your employee waits three weeks.
Meanwhile your new hire is using their personal laptop with your customer data on it. Nobody is happy. This is where we come in.

How it works
Step 1. You tell us the employee. Send us a name, city and rough spec range through the form or over email. We suggest 2 options with 3-year total cost breakdown in INR and USD.
Step 2. You pick the model and approve. We ship a signed quote showing both commercial options: buy outright or rent with 12-month deposit. You pick one. For rental, deposit is invoiced upfront. For purchase, laptop cost is invoiced upfront and the management fee starts monthly.
Step 3. We procure and configure. Laptop is sourced in India. Windows or macOS setup as you specify, MDM enrolled if you use Intune, Kandji, Jamf or similar. Company image loaded. Encrypted. Asset-tagged.
Step 4. Doorstep delivery. Courier ships to your employee’s address in 5-10 working days. Signed handover with photo confirmation.
Step 5. Ongoing. When something breaks, employee calls or WhatsApps our India support number. We coordinate with the OEM. Loaner laptop within 24 working hours if needed. Refresh at end of your chosen cycle (typically 3 years). E-waste disposal handled to CPCB-registered vendors with certificate.

The two ways to work with us
Option 1. Buy the device
You own the laptop directly from day one. We procure it as your agent so the OEM invoice is in your company’s name. Ongoing service fee for management, warranty escalation and support is billed monthly or annually.
Best fit: long-term teams, clean asset registry on your books, full ownership.
Option 2. Rent with deposit
Rental on a 12-month minimum. Deposit equal to 12 months of rental due upfront. Refunded on return of all devices in serviceable condition, less any deductions.

Approximately USD 18 to USD 54 at July 2026 rates. Final rate depends on brand and spec.
Best fit: no CapEx, contract flexibility, clean exit if you scale down.

What buyers usually ask us first
What are the two commercial options?
Option 1: You buy the device. We procure the laptop on your behalf as your agent. The OEM or authorised distributor invoice is issued in your company’s name, so you own the asset from day one and it sits on your balance sheet cleanly. Sirius Star bills a separate procurement fee plus an ongoing monthly or annual management fee that covers configuration, delivery, warranty escalation, support, refresh and e-waste. When the employee leaves, the laptop stays with your company.
Option 2: You rent from us. Rental is Rs 1,500 to Rs 4,500 per device per month depending on brand and spec, minimum 12-month term. You pay a refundable deposit equal to 12 months of rental upfront, then pay monthly rental. On return of all devices in serviceable condition at the end of the term, the deposit is refunded after deductions for damage, missing accessories or unreturned units. Best when you want no CapEx and clean exit flexibility.
Why do you need a 12-month deposit for the rental option?
Honest answer: because your employee is in India, your company is overseas, and if the employee walks out with the laptop, our recovery options are limited. The deposit protects us and lets us offer the rental model at a fair monthly rate. It sits with our authorised dealer bank as a refundable line item, not revenue. On clean return, it goes back to you in full minus any specific deductions we agree on at signing.
What comes out of the deposit at the end of the term?
Standard deductions: broken screens or keyboards beyond fair wear and tear, missing chargers or cables, dents or drops that affect resale value, or devices that were never returned. We photograph and document every device at handover and again at return, so nothing is a surprise. If a device is returned clean, nothing is deducted for that device.
Can we switch from rental to purchase mid-term?
Yes. You pay the remaining book value of the device and we transfer ownership. The corresponding portion of the deposit is either refunded or applied against your remaining rental balance, whichever you prefer.
How is this different from Firstbase or Hofy?
Firstbase and Hofy are excellent for US and Europe. In India, their fulfilment runs through third-party couriers and their support is not India-based. When your Bangalore employee has a hardware issue, our engineer is one WhatsApp away. Theirs is a ticket that opens in London or New York. We also work with a wider range of Indian brands and can source ThinkPads and Dell Pros at India street prices, not import prices.
Do we sign a contract with Sirius Star or with our EOR?
Directly with Sirius Star Enterprise Technologies Pvt Ltd. Your EOR is your payroll partner. We are your hardware partner. The two do not need to touch each other. Some of our customers prefer this cleaner separation for finance and compliance reasons.
What if we already gave our India hire a laptop and want to enrol it?
We can adopt existing devices into our support and refresh programme. We audit the machine, enrol it in your MDM if not already done, and take over the warranty and support cycle from the current date. Pricing adjusts down since we are not selling you a new device.
Can you handle other IT equipment beyond laptops?
Yes. Monitors, docks, headsets, wireless mice, ergonomic chairs. Also mobile phones and tablets where the role requires. Everything in one monthly invoice. Ask us during scoping.
What is the minimum team size to start?
Two employees. If it is just one hire, we can still help but it is easier for both sides once you have a small team. Some customers start with 3 and grow to 20 over 18 months.
How does data compliance work under India’s DPDP Act?
The laptop and its configuration are handed over to your employee under your company’s asset policy. We do not access data on the device. If your policies require disk encryption, MDM, or specific DLP controls, we set it up during configuration. When the device retires, we perform a NIST-standard secure wipe and provide a data-destruction certificate.
Can we pay in USD?
Yes. Invoice is issued in INR with GST for Indian tax compliance. Wires from your overseas bank in USD are accepted through our authorised dealer bank. Exchange rate on the invoice date is used for reconciliation. Same for the deposit under Option 2 — you can wire USD, we hold the INR equivalent.
Who is my point of contact?
Sudeep Kumar directly for the first 20 to 30 deals. He is the founder and CEO. WhatsApp, email, calendar link — whichever you prefer. This is a new offer for us so you get high-touch attention. As we scale this line, we add a dedicated account manager, but Sudeep stays in the loop.
