DPDP penalty exposure for a single data breach
₹250 Cr
maximum statutory cap under the DPDP Act 2023 for a significant personal-data breach. For context, IBM’s 2024 Cost of a Data Breach Report put the average Indian breach at ₹19.5 Crore. A weak perimeter and a flat internal network are the most common entry paths in mid-market India. Check Point Quantum closes both before the regulator sends a notice.

What Check Point offers Indian businesses
Check Point sells a consolidated security platform. Quantum is the next-gen firewall. CloudGuard secures public-cloud workloads. Harmony Endpoint protects laptops and mobile. Infinity SOC is the unified management and threat-hunting layer.
The pitch in plain English. Most Indian mid-market estates run a patchwork. A perimeter firewall from one vendor. An endpoint suite from another. A cloud security tool bolted on later. Each speaks its own log format. Each needs its own console.
Check Point’s argument is consolidation. One policy fabric. One console. One vendor on the support call. The trade-off is honest. You commit to a platform. In return you stop chasing three vendors when an incident crosses perimeter, endpoint, and cloud at 2am.
This page exists to help an Indian buyer size that decision with eyes open. We list what Check Point does well. We name where Fortinet, Palo Alto, or SonicWall might fit better. Then we tell you what a rollout actually looks like from a Vashi-based engineering team.
What sits inside Quantum, CloudGuard, and Harmony
Quantum NGFW
The flagship next-gen firewall line. Quantum Spark for branches. Quantum gateway appliances for campus. Quantum Maestro for hyperscale. Software blades cover IPS, application control, URL filtering, anti-bot, threat emulation, and identity awareness. SmartConsole unifies policy.
Price on Request · Sized by throughput and blade mix
CloudGuard
Cloud security posture and workload protection for Azure, AWS, and GCP. Covers CSPM, CWPP, network security for cloud VPCs, and Kubernetes runtime protection. Useful for teams who lifted-and-shifted to Azure and now need posture visibility plus east-west traffic control.
Price on Request · Per workload or per asset
Harmony Endpoint
EDR and anti-ransomware for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Full-disk encryption, anti-phishing for browsers, and threat emulation tied back to the same Infinity console. Sits next to Bitdefender GravityZone, CrowdStrike Falcon, and Sophos Intercept X as a real option in the endpoint conversation.
Price on Request · Per endpoint per year
Infinity SOC
The management and hunting layer. Correlates events across Quantum, CloudGuard, and Harmony. Adds threat intelligence from ThreatCloud AI. We use it as the single pane during incident response and the quarterly posture review.
Price on Request · Bundled with Infinity tiers
Quantum Spark for branches
Purpose-built for branch offices and small business. Integrated SD-WAN, threat prevention, and zero-touch provisioning. The right answer when a retail chain or distributed manufacturer needs the same Check Point policy on 40 sites without 40 separate consoles.
Price on Request · Per-site appliance plus annual
ThreatCloud AI
The shared intelligence network behind every blade. Updates IPS signatures, sandbox verdicts, and bot reputation continuously. The value is real when zero-day campaigns hit Indian BFSI in the same week they hit global targets.
Included · With supported blades
How Check Point pricing works for Indian buyers
Check Point publishes list prices in USD. India street pricing depends on appliance model, throughput tier, software blade bundle, support term, and distributor margin at the time of order. Anyone quoting a flat rupee number on a website before a sizing call is guessing.
Our quote process is short. A 30-minute call to confirm user count, branches, internet bandwidth, cloud footprint, and current vendor. A two-page sizing document inside 48 hours. A line-itemised quote against one or two Quantum SKUs that actually fit.
Three cost lines show up on every quote. The appliance or virtual gateway. The software blade subscription, sized for one or three years. The professional services line for staging, policy migration, and admin training. The managed retainer is optional and quoted separately.
Price on Request is not us hiding the number. It is us refusing to anchor you to a wrong one. If price discipline matters more than feature consolidation, we will say so and quote Fortinet or SonicWall instead.
Check Point vs Fortinet vs Palo Alto vs SonicWall
No vendor wins every shortlist. Here is where each one tends to land in Indian mid-market deals we actually quote.
| Criterion | Check Point Quantum | Fortinet FortiGate | Palo Alto NGFW | SonicWall |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Best fit | Security team that wants unified policy across NGFW, cloud, and endpoint | Distributed estates that need SD-WAN plus security on one box | Enterprises that want best-of-breed prevention and PAN-OS depth | SMB and lower mid-market where price discipline drives the call |
| Management | SmartConsole and Infinity Portal. Deep, mature, opinionated | FortiManager. Strong on multi-site, lighter on cross-domain unification | Panorama. Powerful but heavier learning curve and licensing | Network Security Manager. Good for the bracket, fewer enterprise hooks |
| India street price | Premium tier. Justified by blade depth and unified policy | Aggressive. Often wins on price-per-Gbps | Premium tier. Often the highest line on the shortlist | Most affordable. Honest fit for small offices and branches |
| SD-WAN story | Solid via Quantum Spark and Maestro. Not the headline | SD-WAN is a headline product. Integrated and proven at scale | Capable via Prisma SD-WAN. Sold as a separate product family | Capable. Right-sized for SMB topologies |
| Cloud security | CloudGuard. Mature CSPM plus CWPP, works across Azure, AWS, GCP | FortiGate VM plus Lacework. Strong for Fortinet-anchored estates | Prisma Cloud. Industry-leading depth, premium price | Lighter cloud story. Best paired with a separate CSPM tool |
| Endpoint integration | Harmony Endpoint shares console and intel. Real consolidation play | FortiEDR. Solid integration with FortiAnalyzer | Cortex XDR. Best-in-class for prevention-heavy buyers | Capture Client. Lighter than the others |
| Where it loses | Sticker shock on first quote. Premium pricing is real | Console depth versus Check Point and Palo Alto | Total cost of ownership. Often the most expensive option | Cloud-native depth and large-enterprise feature breadth |
We quote whichever fits. If your shortlist needs Fortinet FortiGate instead of Check Point, that is the quote we send.
Where Check Point fits the DPDP Act
The DPDP Act 2023 makes you a data fiduciary the moment you process personal data of Indian users. Three obligations matter for the network team. Reasonable security safeguards. Breach notification inside the prescribed window. An auditable trail when the Data Protection Board asks.
Check Point Quantum gives that trail naturally. Identity Awareness ties every connection to a named user. SmartLog and SmartEvent retain searchable logs. Threat Emulation verdicts are stamped and exportable. Harmony Endpoint reporting closes the loop for laptops and mobile.
Our DPDP-fit work goes one layer up. We map Check Point controls to your data-processing notice. We script the breach-notification workflow that pulls Quantum and Harmony evidence in one pull. We brief the grievance officer on what the audit packet looks like.
If your sector overlays RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, or CERT-In, we layer those control requirements on top. Cyber Swachhta Kendra integration, six-hour CERT-In incident reporting, and sector audit packs are built into the engagement, not a change request later.
How a Check Point rollout runs end to end
Four phases. Sized for an Indian mid-market estate. Suitable for greenfield, brownfield migration from Fortinet, Palo Alto, or SonicWall, or a Quantum refresh on existing Check Point.
Typical timeline: 4 to 8 weeks from sign-off to go-live.
Sizing and shortlist (week 1)
A 30-minute call. Users, branches, internet circuits, cloud footprint, current vendor, audit drivers. We send a sizing document with one or two Quantum SKUs, blade mix, and a written comparison against Fortinet or Palo Alto where relevant. No pressure to switch.
Policy migration and staging (weeks 2-4)
Appliance staging at our Vashi bench. Existing rulebase from the incumbent firewall is parsed, deduplicated, and rewritten in SmartConsole. We flag every rule that exists only because someone was scared to delete it. You sign off the new policy before any change window.
Go-live and admin training (week 4-6)
Cutover in a planned window. No weekend marathons. A half-day SmartConsole training for the admin team. Documentation pack includes the policy document, contact tree, and the DPDP audit log export procedure. Harmony rollout follows in a parallel track if scoped.
Quarterly managed retainer (ongoing)
Optional. Includes blade tuning, threat-prevention update review, policy drift report, and a quarterly Infinity SOC posture review. One inbox for renewals, RMA via Check Point support partners across India, and quarterly reviews against your DPDP exposure register.
Industry fit: BFSI, manufacturing, regulated mid-market
Check Point lands hardest in three Indian segments. BFSI buyers want auditable, deeply policy-driven security. They run on tight RBI cyber resilience guidance. Quantum Identity Awareness plus SmartLog gives them an evidence trail that survives an audit.
Manufacturing comes next. Plants with OT-IT convergence, multiple branches, and contractor laptops walking in every Monday need consolidated policy. Quantum Spark in branches plus Harmony on laptops keeps the fabric uniform. Threat Emulation catches the macro-laden Excel that finance forwards weekly.
Regulated mid-market is the third. Pharma, healthcare, listed entities, and large CA firms. They have audit calendars, board-reported risk registers, and zero tolerance for incidents that hit press. Check Point fits because consolidation reduces the audit surface, not just the threat surface.
Where Check Point fits less cleanly. A 30-user startup with a single internet link is overserved. A pure cloud-native company running serverless on AWS may get more value from CloudGuard alone. A retail chain on a tight budget with 200 branches may find Fortinet or SonicWall more aligned to the operating model.
One Check Point shortlist. Forty-eight hours. Written.
Send a one-line brief on user count, branches, and current vendor. We come back with a sizing document, a written Quantum vs Fortinet vs Palo Alto comparison, and a quote that lists every line. If Check Point is not the right answer for your estate, we say so on the call.

Check Point firewall and Harmony Endpoint FAQ
Is Sirius Star a Check Point partner in India?
We source Check Point Quantum, CloudGuard, and Harmony licences through authorised Check Point distribution in India. Partner badge claims on this site are limited to brands we have public certification for, currently Microsoft Partner and Bitdefender Partner. We do not display a Check Point Partner badge unless and until that status is publicly verifiable.
How much does a Check Point firewall cost in India?
It depends on appliance model, throughput tier, software blade bundle, and support term. A small-branch Quantum Spark sits in one price band. A campus-grade Quantum gateway with NGTX blades and three-year support sits in a different band. We quote per shortlist after a 30-minute sizing call. Price on request is our way of refusing to anchor you to a wrong number.
Check Point or Fortinet for a 200-user Indian office?
Both run that footprint cleanly. Check Point Quantum tends to win when the security team wants deep unified policy and one console across NGFW, cloud, and endpoint. Fortinet FortiGate tends to win on price-per-Gbps and SD-WAN consolidation. We size both and let the numbers decide. If you already lean Fortinet, see our FortiGate India page.
Does Check Point support the DPDP Act?
Yes. Check Point logs, Identity Awareness, and Harmony Endpoint reporting give a data fiduciary the audit trail the DPDP Act expects. We help write the policy that maps controls to your data-processing notice, your breach-notification window, and your grievance officer workflow. The evidence pack is repeatable, not a fire drill.
What if we already run Palo Alto or SonicWall?
We support brownfield estates. We run a posture review on the existing Palo Alto or SonicWall first. If a Check Point swap is not the right call, we say so in writing and quote what is. Honest comparison is the rule. We have left perfectly fine Fortinet estates exactly where they were after the review.
Does the quote include rollout and training?
Licence cost and rollout cost are quoted as separate lines. Rollout includes appliance staging, policy migration from the incumbent firewall, SmartConsole onboarding, and a half-day admin training. The quarterly managed retainer is optional and priced per device count. Nothing on the invoice is unlabelled.
Pan-India support, the real version?
Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities run on direct courier and on-site engineer dispatch. Tier-3 and remote sites lean on Check Point support partners for hardware RMA across India. Software, console, and policy work is remote with no geographic gap. The escalation tree fits on one page and we share it on day one.
One Check Point sizing call. Written shortlist by Friday.
Tell us user count, branch list, and current firewall vendor. We send a sizing document, a Quantum vs Fortinet vs Palo Alto comparison, and a quote inside 48 hours. If Check Point is not the right answer, we say so on the call and quote what is.

P.S. A listed Indian fintech’s auditor asked one question: ‘show me NGFW logs for last 90 days for the trading subnet’. Check Point’s R81 console answered in 3 clicks. The auditor smiled.
