The short version
- What it is. TP-Link sells Omada SDN-managed switches, EAP business Wi-Fi access points, Archer VPN routers, Jetstream Layer 2/Layer 3 switches, and VIGI IP cameras for SMB networks in India.
- Who it fits. Offices of 10 to 150 seats, single-floor branch outlets, retail stores, and clinics where a fast cyan cable and a simple cloud console matter more than a vendor logo.
- How Sirius sells it. We are an authorized TP-Link reseller in India. Quote in 8 hours. Stock from the Omada and Jetstream catalogues. Install and config by our networking team.
- When it does not fit. Campus networks past 500 access points, mission-critical SLA-bound floors, or ZTNA roadmaps. For those see HPE Aruba, Cisco, or Meraki.
TP-Link product families we resell in India
Five product families cover almost every SMB ask we see. Each one has a clear job. The trick is not mixing them.
Omada SDN managed switches
Cloud-managed Layer 2 and Layer 2+ switches. The TL-SG2210MP, TL-SG2428P, and TL-SG3428 are the workhorses. Eight to 28 PoE+ ports. One Omada controller runs your switches, access points, and VPN routers from one tab. Arre, one tab.
EAP business access points
The EAP610, EAP650, and EAP670 are the AX1800, AX3000, and AX5400 Wi-Fi 6 ceiling units we ship most. Each one runs in standalone mode or under Omada. A 40-seat office with one EAP650 per floor is a real deployment, not a sales slide.
Archer VPN routers
The Archer ER605 and ER7212PC are the small-office gateways. Multi-WAN load balance. OpenVPN, IPSec, L2TP, and PPTP. Good for a 25-person sales office that wants a site-to-site tunnel back to head office without a Fortinet line item.
Jetstream managed switches
The T1600G and T2600G families. Layer 2+ and Layer 3 lite. Run them when you want managed switching without Omada cloud lock-in. CLI exists. The IT lead at one Andheri client lives in CLI and refuses to look at a web UI.
VIGI IP surveillance
Sirius bundles VIGI cameras and NVRs into SMB Wi-Fi orders that need entry-level CCTV. Not for high-stakes BFSI surveillance. Good for retail, small offices, and clinics that simply want eyes on the front door.

When TP-Link business networking India makes sense
SMB networking is a different planet from enterprise. TP-Link plays well on this planet. We have seen this play out across dozens of SMB cutovers in the Mumbai and Pune belt. Five buyer profiles where it lands.
Offices of 10 to 150 seats. One Omada controller, three to eight EAP access points, and one or two managed switches. The bill of materials is small. The install is one weekend. No specialist required for daily ops.
Single-floor branch offices. A regional sales office in Pune that needs a VPN tunnel back to Mumbai, decent Wi-Fi for 30 people, and one PoE switch for the desk phones. Archer ER605 plus a TL-SG2210MP plus two EAP650s gets it done.
Retail outlets. A jewellery chain with 14 stores across Maharashtra. Each store needs Wi-Fi for POS tablets, a PoE camera at the door, and a tunnel to the regional HQ. Omada controller in the cloud sees every store on one map.
Clinics and small healthcare. A 12-bed clinic in Vashi that needs simple Wi-Fi, segmented guest SSID for visitors, and a PoE switch for printers and tablets. EAP650 plus TL-SG2210MP plus Archer ER605. It just works.
SMB warehouses. A 40,000 square-foot godown in Bhiwandi where a few EAP620 outdoor or EAP660 indoor units cover the bays and the office mezzanine. PoE+ delivered from a TL-SG3428MP.
₹18,000 to ₹32,000 saved per branch on a TP-Link Omada SMB starter stack versus a Cisco Meraki or Cisco Business equivalent. Real bill-of-materials comparison from three retail and clinic deployments we shipped in 2025.
When TP-Link does not fit, and what we recommend instead
An honest networking partner names the line. Here is ours.
Campus past 500 access points. One controller, one site, five buildings, 800 APs. Omada handles it on paper. In the field we recommend HPE Aruba ArubaOS-10 with Aruba Central or Cisco Meraki MR series. See our HPE Aruba page for the upgrade conversation.
Mission-critical SLA floors. A trading floor, a BFSI processing centre, or a hospital ICU where a 90-second Wi-Fi blip is a board-level incident. Cisco Catalyst with stacked redundancy and 24×7 TAC. TP-Link is not that vendor and does not pretend to be.
ZTNA and advanced security roadmap. If you want zero-trust network access, identity-aware proxy, or SD-WAN with deep packet inspection across 40 branches, look at Fortinet FortiGate or Palo Alto. TP-Link does plain site-to-site VPN. It does not do ZTNA.
Compliance-heavy industries. Pharma plant networks under FDA scrutiny, BFSI cores under the RBI cyber framework, or large healthcare under HIPAA-equivalent rules. When the network carries personal data in scope of the DPDP Act, or must meet CERT-In logging directions, the audit-trail expectations are not where TP-Link plays. For those estates we route you to Secure Data Guard and a tier-1 networking stack.
Custom NAC integration. If your security team has a Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass investment and wants every switch port to talk to it, TP-Link integration is thin. Stay in the Cisco or Aruba family for that.
A sample SMB stack we actually deploy
Real BoM from a 45-seat Pune sales office. Three layers. No surprises.
Layer 1, the gateway. One Archer ER605 multi-WAN VPN router. Two WAN ports for ISP failover. Site-to-site IPSec to the Mumbai head office. Around ₹6,500 list.
Layer 2, the switching. One TL-SG2210MP eight-port PoE+ managed switch. Powers the access points and IP phones. Around ₹14,000 list. For the conference room and the printer bay we drop in a small TL-SG108E unmanaged eight-port. Around ₹1,800 list.
Layer 3, the Wi-Fi. Three EAP610 AX1800 ceiling access points. One on each floor of the duplex office. Around ₹7,500 each. Omada controller runs free in the cloud or as a software install on a Raspberry Pi at HQ.
The total. Roughly ₹45,000 list for the gear before install and tax. The Cisco Meraki MR36 plus MS125 plus MX67 equivalent for the same office is north of ₹1.2 Lakh. The Cisco Business CBW150 plus CBS250 stack is around ₹65,000. TP-Link wins on price. The trade-off is no SaaS contract and no 24×7 vendor TAC.
For installs above 25 access points or where the buyer wants a single-pane-of-glass cloud, we add Omada Cloud Essentials. Free tier covers most SMB cases.
Which Indian industries we deploy TP-Link in
TP-Link earns its place in industries where the network has to work, the budget is real, and nobody is paying for a 24×7 vendor TAC they will never call. Five we ship into often.
Retail chains. Apparel, jewellery, pharmacy, and grocery chains running 5 to 40 outlets. Each store gets POS Wi-Fi, a guest SSID, a PoE camera, and a VPN tunnel to regional HQ. One Omada cloud map shows every store at once. This is the single most common TP-Link order we write.
Clinics and diagnostics. Standalone clinics, dental chains, pathology labs, and 10 to 30-bed nursing homes. Segmented guest Wi-Fi for patients, a clean clinical SSID for devices, and PoE for printers and tablets. Patient records that fall under the DPDP Act sit behind Secure Data Guard, not the switch.
Professional services. CA firms, law offices, design studios, and 20 to 120-seat agencies. Fast Wi-Fi 6, a site-to-site tunnel for the second branch, and a managed switch for the desk phones. No IT team on payroll, so the Omada cloud console does the heavy lifting.
Light manufacturing and warehousing. Godowns and small plants in Bhiwandi, Taloja, and the MIDC belt. Outdoor EAP units cover the bays, indoor units cover the office mezzanine, and PoE+ comes off a single Jetstream switch. For plant-floor power protection we pair it with APC Smart-UPS.
Education and coaching. Schools, coaching centres, and small colleges that need classroom Wi-Fi density without an enterprise budget. EAP670 ceiling units handle a 60-student room. Omada caps bandwidth per SSID so the exam-hall Wi-Fi does not buckle.
Rolling out 50+ laptops or tablets alongside the network? Ask about Device-as-a-Service. We bundle the endpoints, the TP-Link network, and lifecycle management into one monthly line instead of three capex hits.
TP-Link vs Ubiquiti vs Cisco Meraki for Indian SMB
Three brands buyers ask us about in the same breath. Same SMB office. Different trade-offs.
| Dimension | TP-Link Omada | Ubiquiti UniFi | Cisco Meraki |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter stack cost | ₹40-50K | ₹55-70K | ₹1.2 Lakh+ |
| SaaS licence | Optional, free tier | Optional, free tier | Mandatory, annual |
| Cloud console | Omada SDN | UniFi Network | Meraki Dashboard |
| Indian RMA | 3-year carry-in | 1-year, reseller-managed | RMA bundled with licence |
| Best fit | SMB 10-150 seats | SMB 25-200 seats, IT-led | Branch chain 20+ sites |
| Sirius stocks | Yes, deep | On request | Yes, on quote |
The honest read: TP-Link wins on price and stock depth in India. Ubiquiti wins when the buyer has an IT lead who enjoys tuning. Cisco Meraki wins when the buyer wants a 30-site branch chain on one dashboard and will pay the licence.

Who is TP a good fit for in India?
TP works best for Indian businesses that already have established workflows around the related platforms, need DPDP-compliant data residency, and want a single accountable partner for deployment plus quarterly tuning. Sirius Star runs the entire lifecycle — scoping, deployment, training, and renewal — from a Navi Mumbai engineering team.
How long does TP deployment take?
A typical TP rollout in India takes 2-6 weeks from purchase order to production cutover, depending on scope. Sirius Star follows a phased plan: scoping call within 8 working hours of enquiry, design review within 5 days, deployment waves, then a 30-day stabilisation window before handing over to your team or our managed retainer.
TP-Link India FAQ
What does a TP-Link Omada SMB stack cost in India?
A 40-seat office stack with one Archer ER605 VPN router, one eight-port TL-SG2210MP PoE+ switch, and three EAP610 AX1800 access points lands at roughly ₹40,000 to ₹50,000 list before install and tax. The Cisco Business equivalent is around ₹65,000. The Cisco Meraki equivalent is ₹1.2 Lakh or more once the mandatory annual licence is added.
What is the warranty on TP-Link business switches and access points?
TP-Link Omada SDN switches and EAP business access points carry a three-year carry-in warranty in India. Sirius coordinates the RMA. The replacement unit usually lands inside 7-10 working days through the authorized distributor channel. Archer business routers and Jetstream switches follow the same three-year line. VIGI cameras carry two years.
When should I upgrade from TP-Link to Aruba or Meraki?
When you cross 200 active access points on one site, when the user count crosses 250, or when the network becomes SLA-bound for a revenue floor. At that point the conversation shifts to HPE Aruba, Cisco Meraki, or Cisco Catalyst. Below those thresholds TP-Link Omada is the saner buy.
What support model does Sirius offer for TP-Link deployments?
Sirius is an authorized TP-Link reseller in India. We quote inside 8 hours, install on-site for Mumbai and the surrounding belt, and provide remote configuration support for branch sites across the country. Standard L1 and L2 troubleshooting is included for the first 30 days post-install. Beyond that we offer an annual networking AMC with quarterly health checks.

P.S. from Naveen. The cable was never the problem. The cable is rarely the problem. The cable was, on a TP-Link cutover last quarter at a Bhiwandi warehouse, the problem. Bright pink. We do not buy pink cables. It had been spliced in 2017 by somebody who is no longer with the company. We replaced it. The Omada controller went green. The buyer asked why his Wi-Fi was suddenly stable. I did not have the heart to tell him about the pink cable. Label everything twice.
